Using a WordPress Blog in Your Website Design
Some business owners start blogs to increase the amount of content on their website while others begin with a blog. To maximize the online impact and ability to make money with your website you need both static content (information that doesn’t change much) and content that is updated regularly (news, specials, tips, etc). The updated content (blog) builds interest, traffic and authority, helping make you the one people trust. The static pages convert that interest and trust into sales.
For most companies, there is no need to have both a website and a blog, you can use the blogging software, WordPress, as both. WordPress uses ‘pages’ for your static content, (like the description of your business) and ‘posts’ for dynamic content and news. Pages can have pages and subpages, allowing you to create easy site navigation for your visitors. Categories and tags make it easy for your visitors to move around your site, finding the things they’re most interested in.
Content for Static Pages
Every website should have the following:
Information about your offer; your services and products Benefits; how do you help your customers? Why should they choose you? Examples and testimonials. Do you have happy customers? Tell everyone! Frequently asked questions – what do most people ask about your product or service? Contact information. Where are you? How do people reach you? Maps are always welcome. Ordering information. Don’t make it hard for people to buy. Can people book appointments? Can they buy your products? Don’t bury this, this should be foremost in your planning.
Satisfaction guarantee. If people don’t know you, why should they do business with you? The dynamic pages of your blog can be used for relationship building with your customers and potential customers.
For your blog pages, think about:
Are you running a special promotion? Has anyone new joined your business? Do you have any tips you can share? The amount of things you can share to build relationships is limitless. You don’t have to be a great writer, just be yourself.
With WordPress, it’s easy to design and build a professional website with very little money. There are thousands of free website designs to choose from, you’re sure to find one that fits you and your business perfectly. You’ll have your website making money for you in no time.

Using WordPress To Create Powerful Seo
No doubt you understand how helpful WordPress is for a variety of applications, if you work as an Internet marketer or blogger.
It simplifies and streamlines the creation of a professional, high quality website with its intuitive functions and ease of use, making it head and shoulders above similar CMS options out there. Perhaps the most substantial benefit that WordPress offers over other platforms is its ability to levy targeted, organic search traffic. Without traffic, a website is a waste of time; with WordPress you can take advantage of the wonderful features to make SEO (Search Engine Optimization) easy.
Search engines mainly use automated routines to rank websites; with WordPress you can optimize your sites to best suit these programs. It is a much more effective method than typical HTML sites that rely on undirected, overpopulated search engines to generate traffic that may not fit the profile of your audience. By making use of the settings in WordPress, you can optimize your site to get targeted visitors from Google and other search engines. What follows are some simple steps to take in setting up your WordPress blog that will help you achieve a high ranking.
To begin with, when using the WordPress software, remember to include strong keywords within the title of your post. This is critical, but specifically chosen keywords must also be woven into the content of your postings. Another important thing to remember, is to use unique titles, because if you repeat titles, the search engines may be confused over which title they should rank. As you develop you articles, keep track of related key words, so that you can use them most effectively in creating interesting titles to draw traffic. Make sure that your titles are interesting to read, as well as having all the related keywords you want to include. The very first words you site visitor reads is your title. This happens before they even click on the link for your website. If the main page of your blog contains a number of brief clips,it becomes even more important that your titles are clear. You want to keep your titles to the point, no extraneous phrasing. You want them to be captivating and noteworthy. But they also need to be appropriate to the topic the person is seeking information on. The first few words of your title should grab them. When it comes down to it, you want to make sure that your content appeals to both readers of your site as well as the search engines.
You want to get indexed by Google? The best way to guarantee that is to have a sitemap. There is actually a plugin that will generate a Google Sitemap specifically for this reason, and it will help you quickly become indexed. This enables Google to easily find all of your site’s pages. Also, whenever you write a new post, ping that post to an assortment of sites. This alerts the sites that there is a fresh posting on your site. It makes sure that those new posts get onto various websites. If other bloggers and websites link back to your post, this will help you get targeted backlinks, which will give you targeted exposure. So take advantage of that. Whenever you post, ping immediately afterward.
With WordPress it is necessary to customize your blog’s permalinks. WordPress generates a default permalink which uses symbols and numbers, so you’ll need to create URLS that include your posts’ titles. The internal settings of WordPress allow you to adjust the structure of your permalinks accordingly. Ignoring these essential alterations will impact your all important search engine rankings. You’ll receive a lot of benefit down the road by making these quick and effective changes from the very beginning.

Benefits of using wordpress as your website
It’s not just for blogging (a web diary)…it’s a great content management software, meaning, once it is set up and looking nice, you can log in to the backend and update it yourself with new articles, pages, etc. Wordrpress can be a whole website, but with the added advantage that you can update your own content.
WordPress provides interactivity. Built into the software is the ability to make comments on all the articles you post or pages on the site. If you are worried about spam attacks or people making comments you don’t like there is also the ability to approve the comment first before it is posted. You can customize a wordpress blog to look like a website..(with a little help from a web designer like me!) Original continual content is a great way to get to gain more traffic and a blog is a good way to easily post your ideas, articles, and pictures without knowing how to design a website. It works like an email editor and is just as easy. Using a free service like Feedburner, you can have people subscribe to your blog for updates. Whenever you post a new article an email goes out telling the people that subscribed and it’s available. In the backend part of the software, you can do all kinds of cool things like look at your stats and see who clicked on what link to get to your blog/site, what phrase they used in the search engines
All in all, wordpress is a good way to add interactivity and manage your own content. As a web designer, I am more than happy to update your website, but there are people out there who want to do it themselves, and this platform makes sense!

Business Website Using WordPress
WordPress used to be only used for blogs and personal sites, but now it is being used more and more to create business websites – by choosing the right theme.
Easy in-post editor screen
Good businesses WordPress themes retain the ordinary word editor that anyone can use whether you are a beginner or an expert at website design.
You can use the in-post editor to talk about your products. Because the word editor is in WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) format, it is not necessary to know code.
Multimedia box options
Look for one that includes a multimedia box where you can add photos, rotate the images, display videos or any other code. Your business website can use the multimedia box as you would normally use a showroom. You can use it to feature merchandise, advertise new products, or simply show off all of your products.
You can add a site tracker or other tracking tool in the multimedia box.
Post image and thumbnails
Make sure your WordPress theme lets you add a thumbnail image that will appear as a sub-heading in your web page. You can highlight your products and services with this tool, and make your website really interesting.
Title and meta tags
Two of the most important enhancements that a good business theme can add to your WordPress website are the title tag and meta description. Search engines are programmed to display the characters appearing in the title tag and meta description every time a search entry matches these characters in the search results.
In search results the meta tags and title will appear in blue. You can increase traffic to your website and bring your site to the top of search results with wise use of the title and meta description tags offered by a quality WordPress theme.
Features and teasers
It is also important to have a features option that allows you to display content in a magazine format. This is effective for new product announcements or other important notices about your business.
However, when you decide to show your website?s content as teasers, it?s great to have the option to cut up your articles into small serving sizes and only show the first few lines at the front page so that your viewer will have to click through your site to view the other pages of your article.
Teasers can increase your site?s stickiness but you must first create an interesting first paragraph to lure your internet viewers to read more in the next page/s.

WordPress and It’s Benefits to using as a CMS (Content Management System)
WordPress is a Content Management System and is a free open source for blog publishing application. It is an extremely useful tool, and is highly recommended when taking you or your business online. Many people, from the small business owner, to the entrepreneur, to even big corporations use WordPress to express their online presence. To make use of it, you have to first download and install a script called WordPress from the site WordPress.org. Now you will be needing a webhost that at least meets the minimum requirements. You can use it for almost any website that you want and is completely customizable.
WordPress has a new WordPress-based blog service that you can create in seconds and its totally for free. There are components to using the free service though. One great thing with WordPress is you can rearrange the widgets you have on your site without even editing HTML or the PHP codes. You can also adjust the themes that you install, and they can be changed easily to a new theme because WordPress mostly uses a templating system. The PHP and HTML codes may be edited allowing more advanced customizations for your site. WordPress also features integrated link management and automatic filters for style and formatting of texts in the articles used on your site. Not to mention that it also nice with trackback and pingback standards, you can display links to another sites that are linked to an article or post. WordPress only supports one web blog per every installation. To fix that, blogs can exist simultaneously by using the Worsdpress Multi-User that was created by WordPress. It’s now possible to control the blogging community and moderate the blogs from a single dashboard for anyone who has a website from WordPress. This is definitely another perk of using WordPress with your online presence. Since WordPress is a free service, you will also be able to find some free templates to use for the look of your site. Even still, in the case you find a look that you must have that does have an investment to use it, you’ll find that the investments are minute compared to having a web developer design a custom site for you.
In order to build your own site with WordPress, you will want to educate yourself on the basics so that you don’t spend hours attempting to build your site and have it only look mediocre. You’ll also want to educate yourself on WordPress so you don’t tinker with the coding incorrectly and mess up your whole site. So familiarize yourself before making pretend you’re a web developer. It will be much more cost efficient ’cause you wont need to worry about hiring a web developer in the end just to fix just a tiny error you made from lack of experience with WordPress. Please keep in mind to back up of your site on a secure server often so that you have your most recent updates updated in case of an error.
